Native Austinite by birth, I’m currently an HR & IT Manager and have been working in tech professionally since 1998 at the age of 14 when I landed a paid internship with Tracor Aerospace (which was acquired by Marconi, currently BAE Systems) and obtained DOD security clearance.

That same year I had an opportunity to be a guest speaker at the 8th annual conference on Computers, Freedom, and Privacy which lead to being featured in an article entitled “Cracking the Hacker Myth” on the front page of USA Today’s Tech Extra section.  By the time I was 15 I had been poached from my internship to work at a tech startup called Globeset, which was funded by AMEX and Visa and was developing an e-Wallet software (think Amazon’s 1-Click but 20 years ago).

When the dot-com bubble burst I used the opportunity to finish high school and supported myself by fixing Pac-Man & Galaga circuit boards at a small pinball repair shop.  From there I did what I’ve been doing since a kid… help people fix their technical problems.   I worked my way up through the help desk call centers and ended up working in the Network Operation Center of what would later become AT&T WiFi, spent a few years at another startup where I mastered both internal IT support and client support.

I took a break from startup life and accepted a position at an established manufacturing company acting as the sole IT resource for 5 divisions.   The startup life called me back and I’ve been doing IT and expanded into the field of HR, which was a natural fit for me as I truly enjoy working with people, most recently I’ve added Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) certification to my portfolio.

If I’m not busy assisting people and companies fulfill  their needs you might find me under the hood of a car, teaching myself watchmaking, renovating my house, playing guitar, designing something to 3d print, or playing Pokémon with my son.

Throughout my career I’ve learned an incredible amount, but I never stopped being that kid who enjoyed helping out others.

Whether you’re a small business or an individual I’m eager to see how I can help you achieve your goals!
